At Women Leading Baltimore our mission is to create space and opportunities for high school girls to embrace their power and authority through sisterhood, nurturing mentorship and access to meaningful experiences. Our expectations for the girls in our program are to support each other, respect each other, and that there is space for everyone.

Meet the Founder

In the vibrant tapestry of Baltimore's community leaders, Ashley (Day) Gibbs shines as a beacon of inspiration and empowerment. With a heart dedicated to youth development and a passion for nurturing the potential of young women, Ashley has emerged as a tireless advocate for change. As the Founder and Executive Director of Women Leading Baltimore, she has carved a path of mentorship, leadership, and educational empowerment that resonates with high school girls across the city. 

Ashley's journey in youth development has been nothing short of extraordinary. Her career has encompassed every facet of this crucial field, including post-secondary planning, program development, and collaborations with schools, nonprofits, and government agencies. Her experiences have shaped her into the dynamic leader she is today, with an unwavering commitment to uplifting the voices and aspirations of Baltimore's young women. 

Before embarking on her journey with Women Leading Baltimore, Ashley made a significant impact as the Director of Mentor Engagement at iMentor Baltimore. In this role, she played a pivotal role in managing corporate partnerships, fostering a vibrant mentor community, and spearheading mentor recruitment efforts. Her dedication to building bridges between mentors and mentees has left an indelible mark on the city's youth. 

Ashley's outstanding contributions have not gone unnoticed. She has been the recipient of numerous accolades, including The Daily Record's Leading Women award, a testament to her remarkable achievements as a female professional. Her commitment to excellence and empowerment serves as an inspiration to all who have the privilege of working alongside her. 

Ashley's academic journey laid the groundwork for her transformative work. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology from McDaniel College, a testament to her dedication to learning and understanding the complexities of the world around her. 

At the heart of Ashley's mission is the belief that every young woman in Baltimore has the potential to shine. Through Women Leading Baltimore, she has created a haven where high school girls can find their voices, express themselves, and support one another. Her dedication to fostering sisterhood and community empowerment is driving change at a grassroots level, inspiring countless young women to reach for their dreams.
